What is Solar Neighbor?

 

Solar Neighbor is a handmade world, multimedia art project, and short film created by multidisciplinary artist Austin Cole.

It began years ago as simple drawings, and slowly shape-shifted through life, time, and many mediums.

 

Sketches, paintings, sculptures, characters, stories, experiences, emotions. All of it eventually blossomed into an internationally award-winning stop-motion short film, built entirely by hand titled "Solar Neighbor"

​

That film is just the beginning. Solar Neighbor is an ongoing multimedia art project spanning stop-motion filmmaking, embroidered and hand made clothing, paintings, sculptures, clay work, and other curious experiments.

More films are already in the works. The world is always growing.

This is a fully independent project, funded by fans, friends, and neighbors.
